Trauma Informed Coalition Cattaraugus County

MISSION STATEMENT: We engage the community to understand and respond to the complex and profound impact of trauma through prevention, education, planning, outreach and treatment.

 

The Trauma Informed Coalition is comprised of community members and professionals that include: Faith Organizations, Local Government, Legislators, Education, Non-Profit Organizations, Law Enforcement, Seneca Nation of Indians, Health Care Organizations, and Behavioral Health Providers.


 

VISION STATEMENT:

To improve the heal and wellbeing of those affected by trauma and to build community resources to prevent and overcome trauma, build resilience, and thrive in trust and safety.

 

 

VALUES:

We support the Five Guiding Principles of Trauma Informed Care: Safety, Trustworthiness,Collaboration, Empowerment and Choice.

The Five Guiding Principles of TIC were developed by Fallot & Harris, 2006

 

GOALS:

1. Promote a broad understanding of trauma and its various definitions throughout the community.

2. Promote an understanding of the causes of trauma, including, but not limited to, Adverse Childhood Experiences throughout the community.

3. Encourage all organizations to embrace a trauma informed approach to employment and to serving customers and clients.

4. Build resilient and self-healing communities through training and treatment.
