Connecting Communities in Action’s Nutrition Division is committed to empowering the community to make choices through advocacy, education, and outreach. We connect families to resources in order to promote food security and encourage the value of nutrition.
Emergency Food Pantry Network
Conduit of food from the Western New York Food Bank and other sources to over 20 locally operated pantries serving persons and families with emergency needs throughout Cattaraugus County. CCA’s Salamanca pantry location is the largest in the service area.
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9 am - 12 pm; 1 - 3 pm
FEEDMORE WNY MOBILE FOOD PANTRY
On a monthly basis, CCA receives the Mobile Food Pantry from FeedMore of WNY, delivering fresh and nutritious food, such as fruits and vegetables and dairy products, along with non-perishable food items.
Lighthouse Community Kitchen
Serving nutritious, ready-to-eat, takeout meals for community members.
Hours: Monday – Thursday, 3 – 4 pm
mobile food pantry
Establishing mobile food pantries to serve food deserts throughout Cattaraugus County. These pantries will be co-located at clinics or centrally located areas, distributing both medically tailored food boxes and general food boxes to individuals and families.
school backpack program
Implementing backpack programs at participating schools to ensure children living with food insecurity have access to nutritious food outside of school hours.

Providing tailored food boxes to those undergoing treatment for prevalent medical conditions within Cattaraugus County.
Food Recovery, Seedling, and Gleaning Projects
Growing and gathering nutritious foods to be distributed to underprivileged persons through the pantry network and community kitchen; includes community gardening and partnerships with local grocers and restaurants.
jim vreeland Community Garden & Greenhouse
Vegetable seeds and seedlings are grown in the greenhouse beginning in March and are used in the community garden or given to customers to grow at home. Once the produce is harvested, it is used by the Lighthouse Community Kitchen, or given out through our food pantry.
