Connecting Communities in Action’s Nutrition Division is committed to empowering the community to make choices through advocacy, education, and outreach. We connect families to resources in order to promote food security and encourage the value of nutrition.

 

 
 
 
Food+Pantry

Emergency Food Pantry Network

Conduit of food from the Western New York Food Bank and other sources to over 20 locally operated pantries serving persons and families with emergency needs throughout Cattaraugus County. CCA’s Salamanca pantry location is the largest in the service area.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 9 am - 12 pm; 1 - 3 pm

Lighthouse Community Kitchen

Serving nutritious, ready-to-eat, to-go meals for community members.

Hours: Monday – Thursday, 3 – 4 pm

 
Summer Food Service

Summer Food Service Program

Nutritious lunches for children in low-income communities throughout the summer months. This program supports the nutritional needs of children, who may otherwise be receiving free and reduced-priced breakfasts or lunches during the school year.

 
Seedlings

Food Recovery, Seedling, and Gleaning Projects

Growing and gathering nutritious foods to be distributed to underprivileged persons through the pantry network and community kitchen; includes community gardening and partnerships with local prisons and grocery stores.

Community Garden/Greenhouse

Vegetable seeds and seedlings are grown in the greenhouse beginning in March and are used in the community garden or given to customers to grow at home. Once the produce is harvested, it is used by the Lighthouse Community Kitchen, or given out through our food pantry.
