Cattaraugus Community Action’s Energy & Housing Services are dedicated to providing the education, technology and programs that assist members of our community to live in safe, affordable and energy efficient homes.
Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP)**:
Serving low-income, elderly, and disabled homeowners and renters. Energy audits, health and safety measures, energy conservation, education, emergency furnace repairs and replacements, other minor repairs related to energy needs. **Serving Allegany and Cattaraugus Counties.
Fuel Assistance (HEAP):
Seasonal fuel application assistance and outreach services for persons under 60 years of age, non-Public Assistance recipients.
Appliance efficiency testing and replacement for income eligible customers in arrears with participating utility providers.
Housing Rehabilitation and Home Repair Programs:
CCA may serve qualifying owner-occupied homes addressing health and safety issues, bringing the units up to Housing Quality Standards, including, but not limited to, lead hazard reduction, structural corrections, thermal upgrading, mechanical systems, and other health and safety issues.
Rural Preservation Program:
Provides operational support for the Rural Preservation Company in order to create housing opportunities for low-income and special needs populations.
Salamanca Attic Insulation Program:
Provides attic insulation to customers of the Salamanca Board of Public Utilities in order to reduce their yearly kilowatt usage. Funded by Independent Energy Efficiency Program.
