COUNTY-WIDE HOME IMPROVEMENT PROGRAMS
MISSION STATEMENT:
The Cattaraugus County Legislature has directed the Department of Economic Development, Planning, and Tourism to help facilitate more collaborative efforts among housing agencies in the county. This HOME County-Wide Rehabilitation Program is an example of a partnership between Cattaraugus County and Cattaraugus Community Action, Inc. This program is intended to help better serve the housing needs of the residents of Cattaraugus County.

The Housing & Community Development Division of Cattaraugus Community Action, Inc. is dedicated and committed to preserving and creating safe and appropriate housing opportunities for low income and special needs populations.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW:

Cattaraugus County and Cattaraugus Community Action, Inc. have teamed up to provide the HOME County-Wide Rehabilitation Programs. These programs are for moderate rehabilitation of owner-occupied homes throughout Cattaraugus County. Eligible home owners may receive a grant to address health and safety repairs to bring the home to Housing Quality Standards. Rehabilitation work must fall into one of the program's work categories.

DO I QUALIFY?
To qualify for our Home Improvement Programs:
  • You must have household income at or below 50% of the Area Median Income.
  • You must have proof of home ownership.
  • You must be current with all financial obligations such as property taxes and mortgage payments.
  • The home must be owner-occupied.
  • The rehabilitation work needed must fall into one of the program's work categories: Structural Corrections, Well and Septic Systems, Thermal Upgrading, Mechanical Systems.
